The Trade Delegation in Saudi Arabia and UAE 02.12-07.12.2017

Together with the Chamber of Engineers and the Chamber of Architects in Baden-Württemberg we took part on the Trade Deligation in Saudi Arabia and UAE on 02-07th December 2017 as a cluster-initiative, to discuss future opportunities and ways of cooperation.

The collaboration between KSA and Germany is well established in various sectors. The engagement of engineers and architects from Germany and especially Baden-Wuerttemberg is an excellent example of how active it is.

The main theme of Delegation 2017 became The Art of Civil Engineering and Architecture “Made in Baden-Württemberg” Germany. Together with our partners we have been representing passionate engineering Made in Germany and introducing also our specific services and branches. We were reporting about

  • Special and Lightweight Structures (Julian Lienhard, Managing Director – str.ucture GmbH)
  • Energy-efficient Wastewater Treatment Plants – Measures and Implementation (Dirk Schönberger, Managing Partner – bw egineers GmbH)
  • BIM-technology for Retrofitting of existing structures and buildings (Ramazan Balci, CEO – Werner & Balci GmbH)
  • Healthcare projects in Saudi Arabia – examples with MoH, BIM, primary care experience (Albrecht Meyer, Project Manager – AEP Architekten)

 

Daniel Sander, CEO of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Chamber of Engineers, has been heading the German delegation with its representatives and senior officials from about 15 companies from the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The Delegates visited the world’s largest subway project “The Riyadh Metro Project” and met with the »Public Investment Fund« where the future projects »Red Sea Project« and »NEOM« were discussed. »NEOM« is the centerpiece of the large-scale »Vision 2030«, which aims to make Saudi Arabia less dependent on oil. On their last day the Delegates had time to visit the International Engineering Conference & Exhibition (IECE) Riyadh.

Both countries intend to continue and intensify their successful relationship.
